Space Views
Views show the same items in a space in different ways. In Resool you can see a space as a list, table, board, calendar, timeline, workload chart, dashboard or sprint plan, then filter, group and sort what you see and save the result as a view for yourself or the whole space. Changing a view never changes the items themselves.
The views
| View | Best for |
|---|---|
| List | Tracking items grouped by status, with sub-items and columns. |
| Table | A spreadsheet-style grid of every field. |
| Board | Moving items between statuses as cards. |
| Calendar | Planning and scheduling by due date. |
| Timeline | Planning by start and due date, with dependencies and milestones. |
| Workload | Seeing who has too much on. |
| Dashboard | Tracking metrics for the space at a glance. |
| Sprints | Planning items in time boxes with points and a burndown. |
Every view except Sprints is shown as a tab when you create a space.
Spaces › open a space
The view tabs across the top of a space (List, Table, Board, Calendar, Timeline, Workload, Dashboard) and the "+ View" menu open with the search box and each view's short description.

How to add or remove a view
- Open the space and click + View at the end of the view tabs.
- Search or pick a view from the list. Views already on the space aren't listed.
To remove a tab, open its menu and click Remove this view. Removing a view doesn't delete any items.
Adding and removing view tabs needs the Create spaces and change their fields permission.
How to use each view
List
Items are grouped by status. Click a group header to fold it, and click a row to open the item.
- Group by: Status, Priority, Assignee, Due date or No grouping.
- Sub-items: show them Collapsed under their parent, Expanded, or as Separate rows.
- Hide empty groups removes groups that have no items.
- Columns: choose which fields appear and in what order, or create a new field from Add column. Only people who can change the space's fields can create fields.
- At the bottom of a column, Calculate shows a count, sum, average, minimum or maximum for the group.
Table
A grid with one row per item and one column per field. Edit values straight in the cells, choose columns, and group rows the same way as in List.
Board
Each status is a column and each item is a card. Drag cards between columns to change their status, or focus a card and use Alt + arrow keys.
To keep work flowing, open a column's menu and click Set WIP limit. Enter the most items the column should hold; the column turns red when it has more. Leave it empty for No limit.
Spaces › open a space › Board
The Board view with four status columns, cards showing assignees, due dates and priority, and one column header showing a WIP limit of "3 of 3".

Calendar
Items appear on their due date. Switch between Month, Week, 4 days and Day, and use Today to jump back. Items without a due date are listed under Unscheduled, and late items under Overdue; drag one onto a day to schedule it. Click a day to add an item on that date.
Timeline
Each item is a bar from its start date to its due date. Zoom by Days, Weeks or Months.
- Drag a bar to move it, or drag its edges to change the dates.
- Drag the dot at the end of a bar onto another bar to make that item wait for this one (a dependency).
- To show an item as a single point in time, open its row menu in the List view and click Mark as milestone.
Spaces › open a space › Timeline
The Timeline in Weeks zoom with several bars, a dependency arrow between two bars, and one milestone marker.

Workload
A grid of people and days showing how many open items each person has on each day. Set the Capacity (items per day) and pick a range of Week, 2 weeks or 4 weeks. Cells are green under capacity, orange at capacity and red over it.
Only open items with a start or due date and an assignee are counted. The view tells you how many open items have no dates.
Dashboard
Key numbers for the space: Open, Done in 7 days, Overdue, Due soon (in the next 7 days) and Unassigned, plus charts By status, Open work per person, Open by priority and Done per week.
Sprints
Add Sprints from + View. Sprints time-box your work:
- Click New sprint and set a Name, Start date, End date and an optional Goal. Then click Create sprint.
- Plan items into the sprint from the Backlog below it, and give them Points if you estimate work.
- Click Start sprint. Only one sprint can run in a space at a time.
- Follow progress in the Burndown chart (remaining against ideal, in points or items).
- Click Complete sprint when it ends and choose where to move any unfinished items.
Deleting a sprint sends its items back to the backlog.
How to filter, sort and search
The toolbar above every view (except Sprints) has:
- Filter: add conditions on Name, Status, Assignees, Due date, Created, Priority, Tags or your own fields. Items must match all conditions.
- Sort: by any column, ascending or descending, or Manual (board order).
- Assignees: show only items assigned to the people you pick.
- Mine: show only your items.
- Hide closed items / Show closed items.
- Search this space: find items by name.
How to save a view
Once you've set filters, sorting and a view type you want to keep:
- Click Save view.
- Enter a View name.
- Turn on Share with everyone in this space to let others use it, or leave it off to keep it for yourself.
- Click Save changes.
Saved views appear next to All items. To change one, adjust it and choose Update view, or Save as new view to keep both. Shared views show a Shared label.
Spaces › open a space › Save view
The "Save this view" dialog with a view name typed and the "Share with everyone in this space" switch on, with active filter chips visible in the toolbar behind it.

FAQ and troubleshooting
Why isn't an item showing on the Calendar or Timeline?
The Calendar needs a due date and the Timeline needs dates to draw a bar. Items without them are listed as unscheduled; drag them onto the view to give them dates.
Why does the Workload view look empty?
It only counts open items that have a start or due date and at least one assignee. Add dates and assignees to see the load.
Can I start a second sprint while one is running?
No. Complete the active sprint first, then start the next one.
Does a saved view change what my teammates see?
Only if you share it. A shared view is available to everyone in the space, but each person still chooses which view to open.
