TikTok ads accounts

TikTok ads accounts in Resool connect your TikTok Pixel through the TikTok Events API. When a contact moves to a lifecycle stage you choose, such as a new lead or a completed payment, Resool sends that event to TikTok, so your TikTok ads learn which conversations turn into real customers and optimize for them. You choose which stage reports which event, and can add a value to report revenue.

What you can do with TikTok ads accounts

  • Report conversions: map each lifecycle stage to a TikTok standard event (for example Contact or CompletePayment) or a custom event.
  • Report revenue: add a value and currency to an event.
  • Test before going live: use a test event code and Send a test event to check events in TikTok Events Manager.
  • Monitor delivery: the Recent events list shows each event with its status, and lets you try failed ones again.

Before you begin

  • You need access to TikTok Ads Manager for the Pixel you want to use, so you can copy its Pixel code and generate an Events API access token.
  • Set up your lifecycle stages first. Events are sent when a contact moves into a stage.
  • In Resool, only workspace Owners and Admins can change these settings.

How to set up TikTok ads accounts

  1. Go to Settings › Apps and open the Ads & conversions tab.
  2. On the TikTok ads accounts card, click Connect. The TikTok ads accounts page opens.
  3. In the TikTok Pixel section, fill in:
    • Pixel code: in TikTok Ads Manager, go to Tools › Events › Web events, open your Pixel and copy the code shown under its name.
    • Events API access token: in your Pixel, open Settings, find Events API and click Generate access token. After saving, the field shows that a token is saved; leave it empty to keep it.
    • Test event code (optional): while it's set, events show in Events Manager under Test events instead of counting.
  4. Turn on Report conversions.
  5. Save your changes with the save bar.

How to choose which stage reports which event

  1. In Stages and events, find each lifecycle stage. Lost stages are listed too.
  2. For each stage, choose:
    • Don't report (the default).
    • A TikTok standard event: Contact, SubmitForm, CompleteRegistration, Subscribe, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, PlaceAnOrder or CompletePayment.
    • Custom event…: type your own event name (up to 50 characters).
  3. To report revenue, type a Value. A currency field appears, prefilled with your workspace currency.
  4. Save your changes.

Map lifecycle stages to TikTok events.

From now on, whenever a contact moves into a mapped stage, Resool sends that event to your TikTok Pixel. Resool identifies the person to TikTok with the contact's phone number and email, hashed.

How to test your setup

  1. Set a Test event code from TikTok Events Manager and save.
  2. Click Send a test event. You see Test event sent. Check TikTok Events Manager → Test events. The button works once the Pixel code and token are saved and there are no unsaved changes.
  3. Move a test contact into a mapped stage and check Recent events.
  4. Clear the Test event code and save when you're done.

How to read Recent events

Each event shows its status: Queued, Sent, Failed (with TikTok's error) or Skipped (for example, reporting was off or the contact was deleted). Click Try again on a failed or skipped event to resend it.

How to stop reporting

Turn off Report conversions and save. The card on the Apps page no longer shows Connected, and no new events are sent.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Events show as Failed.

What you can do:

  • Check that the Pixel code matches the Pixel the token was generated for.
  • Generate a new Events API token, paste it and save.
  • Click Try again on the failed events.

Do I need the TikTok channel connected?

Not for reporting conversions. You need the TikTok channel to receive TikTok messages, and to use the TikTok Messaging Ads workflow trigger, which starts when someone starts a chat from a TikTok Messaging Ad.

Can I report to Meta and TikTok at the same time?

Yes. Set up Meta Business accounts too; each platform has its own stage and event mapping.

Can I report to more than one TikTok Pixel?

No. Each workspace reports to one TikTok Pixel.
