Make

Make (formerly Integromat) is a visual automation platform where you build scenarios by connecting apps on a canvas. The Resool app for Make adds instant triggers for new messages, contacts, conversations and tickets, plus actions to send messages, create or update contacts, tag them, and create tickets and tasks. Use it to move data between Resool and the rest of your tools, with Make's routers, filters and data transformations in between.

What you can do with Make

Triggers (instant)

ModuleStarts when
Watch Incoming MessagesA contact sends a new message.
Watch New ContactsA new contact is created.
Watch New ConversationsA new conversation starts.
Watch New TicketsA new ticket is created.

Actions and searches

ModuleWhat it does
Send a Message to a ContactSends a message, or an internal note, on the contact's latest conversation.
Create or Update a ContactCreates a contact, or updates the existing one with the same email or phone.
Add a Tag to a ContactAdds an existing tag, or creates a tag by name, on a contact.
Create a TicketCreates a support ticket.
Create a TaskCreates a task in a project.
Search ContactsFinds contacts by name, email or phone.
Make an API CallCalls any Developer API request with your connection, for things the other modules don't cover.

Dropdowns for tags, members, projects and contacts load from your workspace.

Before you begin

  • You need a Make account.
  • Connect as a Resool member whose role allows what your scenarios do. The Watch triggers need an Owner or Admin, because they subscribe to workspace events.

How to connect Resool to Make

  1. In a Make scenario, add a module and search for Resool.
  2. Pick a module, then click Create a connection.
  3. A Resool page opens: Connect Make to Resool. Sign in to Resool if you aren't already.
  4. Under Workspace, choose the workspace. Workspaces whose plan doesn't include the API show Plan doesn't include the API.
  5. Review what Make will be able to do, then click Allow.
  1. You're sent back to Make. The connection shows your email and the workspace.

The Make card in Resool (Settings › Apps, Automation tab) also has a link to open Resool in Make.

How to use a Resool trigger

  1. Add a Watch module, for example Watch Incoming Messages, as the first module of a scenario.
  2. Add a webhook for it when Make asks. Resool registers it automatically, so you don't copy any URL.
  3. Run the scenario once and send a test message to one of your channels to see the output bundle: message ID, conversation ID, contact ID, channel and body.
  4. Add the next modules and turn the scenario on.

Start a scenario whenever a customer sends a message.

Each Watch module's webhook appears on the Resool Webhooks page with Added through the API. Deleting the webhook in Make removes it from Resool.

How to use Resool actions

  1. Add a Resool module, for example Send a Message to a Contact.
  2. Choose the Contact (or map a contact ID from an earlier module), set Kind to Message (sent to the customer) or Internal note, and write the Text.
  3. Run the scenario to test it.

Make an API Call

Use Make an API Call for any other request. Enter the URL as a path, such as /v1/tags or /v1/conversations, choose the Method, and add a body if needed. Make adds your connection's authorization for you.

How to disconnect Make

  • To stop a scenario's events, turn the scenario off or delete its Watch webhook in Make.
  • To remove access completely, delete the Resool connection under Connections in Make.

FAQ and troubleshooting

My Watch module doesn't receive anything

What you can do:

  • Make sure the scenario is on, or click Run once while testing.
  • Recreate the connection as an Owner or Admin: other roles can't subscribe to events.
  • On the Resool Webhooks page, check that the endpoint exists and isn't Turned off after failures.

Make says my plan doesn't include the API

Make connects through Resool's API, part of the Scale plan. An owner can upgrade in Settings › Billing & usage.

Can I react to other events, like a closed conversation or a won deal?

The Resool app has four Watch modules. For other events, add a Webhooks endpoint in Resool and receive it with Make's own custom webhook module.
