Linear

Linear is an issue tracker used by product and engineering teams. Connecting Linear to Resool lets support agents escalate a customer's bug report or feature request as a Linear issue straight from the conversation, in the right team and with a priority, and then see the issue's status from the contact's panel. Workflows can create Linear issues automatically.

What you can do with Linear

In the Inbox

  • Create issue in a Linear team, with a priority and a description.
  • See the Linear issues created for the contact with their identifier (for example ENG-142) and status, and open them with View in Linear.

On the contact page

  • The Connected apps list shows how many Linear issues the contact has and how many are still open.

In Workflows

  • The Create Linear issue step creates an issue in a team with a priority, a title and a description.

Every issue Resool creates includes the contact's name, email and phone and a link to the conversation, so engineers can read the original report.

Before you begin

  • You need a Linear account that is a member of the teams you want to create issues in.
  • In Resool, only workspace Owners and Admins can connect apps and change their settings.
  • Creating issues from the inbox needs a role that can manage contacts (Owner, Admin, Manager and Agent can by default).

FAQ and troubleshooting

Can I assign the issue or add labels from Resool?

No. Resool sets the team, priority, title and description. Triage the issue in Linear.

Does the customer see the Linear issue?

No. The issue is internal. Only your team sees it, in Linear and in the Resool panel.

A team is missing from the Team picker. Why?

The Linear user who connected must be a member of the team. Reconnect with an account that has access if needed.

Which plans include Linear?

Apps are included on every plan. See Plans and billing.
