Creating a Broadcast
Creating a broadcast in Resool takes one page: you name it, choose the WhatsApp numbers or Messenger Pages to send from, pick the segment of contacts to reach, choose an approved template and fill its variables per contact, then send it now or schedule it. Before you send, Resool shows how many contacts will receive it, who will be skipped and why, the estimated cost and how long sending will take.
Before you begin
- Your plan includes broadcasts (Growth or Scale) and your role includes Create and send campaigns.
- At least one WhatsApp number or Messenger Page is connected.
- The channel has at least one Approved template. See WhatsApp message templates.
- You have a segment with the contacts you want to reach. See Segments.
How to create a broadcast
- Go to Broadcasts and click Add broadcast.
- Fill in each section of the New broadcast page, described below.
- Check the Summary and click Send now or Schedule.
Broadcasts › Add broadcast
The New broadcast page with the Details card (Broadcast name "Ramadan offer", one WhatsApp channel), the Audience card (segment chosen, "Only contacts who opted in" on, "1,240 of 1,302 contacts will receive it" with skip reasons), the Message card with a template chosen, the Delivery card, and the Summary with the WhatsApp phone preview on the right.

1. Details
- Broadcast name: only your team sees this, for example "Ramadan offer – week 1".
- Channels: click Choose channel and pick a WhatsApp number or Messenger Page. If you have only one, it's picked for you.
Sending on several channels
Click Add channel to add more numbers or Pages. Drag them (or use the arrow keys) to set their order. Each contact gets the broadcast once, on the first channel in this order they can be reached on. Each channel has its own tab under Message, so you pick a template for each.
2. Audience
- Choose a Segment. To make a new one, click New segment. Membership is captured when sending starts.
- For WhatsApp, turn on Only contacts who opted in to send only to contacts whose WhatsApp marketing is Opted in. Contacts who opted out are always skipped, whether this is on or off.
Resool then shows "X of Y contacts will receive it" and the reasons others are skipped:
| Skip reason | What it means |
|---|---|
| opted out | The contact opted out of WhatsApp marketing. |
| without opt-in | Only contacts who opted in is on and the contact hasn't opted in. |
| without a WhatsApp number | The contact has no phone number to send to. |
| duplicate number | Another contact in the segment has the same number. |
| not reachable on this channel | The contact can't be reached on any of the chosen channels. |
With several channels, the count per channel is shown too.
Broadcasts › Add broadcast › Audience
The Audience card with the Segment dropdown set to "VIP customers", the Only contacts who opted in switch, and the reach box "1,240 of 1,302 contacts will receive it" with "40 opted out", "12 without a WhatsApp number", "10 duplicate numbers".

3. Message
- Under Template, pick one of the channel's approved templates. Only templates approved by Meta can be sent. Templates are created on the templates page, not here.
- If the template has variables (
{{1}},{{2}}…), choose a value for each:- First name, Full name, Email or Phone of the contact
- Custom field: then pick the field
- Fixed text: the same text for everyone
- Enter If empty, use… to set a fallback, for example "there" when a contact has no first name.
The preview on the right shows the message as the customer will see it.
Broadcasts › Add broadcast › Message
The Message card with a template "order_offer" selected, variable {{1}} set to First name with fallback "there", variable {{2}} set to Fixed text "RAMADAN20", and the phone preview showing the filled-in message.

If the template has an image, video or document header, the sample file you uploaded with the template is sent.
4. Delivery
- Send now: sending starts as soon as you confirm.
- Schedule: pick the date and time under Send at.
- Speed: how many messages go out per minute (1 to 1,000, 60 by default). Start slowly with new numbers to protect their quality.
5. Summary and sending
The Summary shows:
- Recipients: how many contacts will receive it.
- Estimated cost: based on Meta's published per-message rates. Meta's invoice is final.
- Takes about: how long sending will take at the chosen speed.
Click Send now or Schedule. In the confirmation, for example "Send to 1,240 contacts now?", confirm again. Messages can't be recalled once sent, but you can pause or cancel while it's sending.
If the button is disabled, you'll see "Add a name, channel, segment and message to continue."
How to save a draft
Click Save draft at the top at any time. The broadcast appears under Draft on the Broadcasts page. Open it later to finish and send it.
How to edit or cancel a scheduled broadcast
- Open the broadcast from Scheduled.
- You see "Scheduled for {date}. You can still edit it." Change anything and schedule again.
- To stop it, click Cancel in the banner.
FAQ and troubleshooting
Why is my template missing from the list?
What you can do:
- Check that the template's status is Approved on the templates page.
- Make sure it belongs to the WhatsApp number or Page you chose.
- Click Sync from Meta on the templates page if you created it in Meta directly.
Why will fewer contacts receive it than are in the segment?
Some contacts are skipped. The reasons are listed under the count, for example opted out or without a WhatsApp number.
I see "No segments yet".
Every broadcast goes to a segment. Click Create a segment, then come back to the broadcast.
Can I send a Messenger broadcast with a promotion?
No. Messenger templates are always Utility: updates about an order, booking or account the customer started. Use WhatsApp marketing templates for offers.
What happens when someone replies?
The reply opens a conversation in the Inbox and counts as Replied in the broadcast report.
