Team Chat
Team chat is Resool's built-in messaging for your team. It gives you channels for topics or teams and direct messages for one-to-one or small group talks, right next to your customer conversations, so you don't need a separate chat app. You can reply in threads, react, @mention teammates, contacts and tasks, and share files, voice messages and screen recordings.
Before you begin
- Team chat is available to every member of the workspace on all plans.
- Open it from Team chat in the left navigation.

- Members: see who's in the channel and add people.
- Edit channel: change the channel's name, topic or picture.
- Leave channel: leave a channel you no longer need.
- Archive channel: keep the history but stop new posts. An archived channel can still be read.

Notes and limitations
- Files can be up to 25 MB each.
- A group direct message can include up to 8 people.
- You can read an archived channel, but you can't post in it.
- Team chat is internal. Customers never see it. To talk about a customer conversation, you can also use internal notes in the Inbox.
FAQ and troubleshooting
What's the difference between Team chat and internal notes?
Internal notes live inside a customer conversation in the Inbox and are only about that conversation. Team chat is for everything else: team topics, questions and quick talks. See Internal notes and mentions.
I can't record a voice message
Your browser needs permission to use the microphone.
What you can do:
- Allow the microphone for Resool in your browser's site settings, then try again.
Will I be notified about every message?
You're notified when someone mentions you or replies in a thread you're part of. You can mute a channel, or turn off Team chat notifications in your notification settings. See Notifications.
Can I use Team chat on my phone?
Yes. Team chat is available in the Resool.io mobile app. See Mobile app.
