YouTube

YouTube is Google's video platform. Connecting your YouTube channel to Resool adds a Send a YouTube video button to the composer, so agents can search your channel's videos and insert a link into a reply in one click. Support and sales teams use it to send tutorials, product walkthroughs and reviews to customers on any channel, without hunting for links.

#What you can do with YouTube

In the Inbox

• Send a YouTube video: open a picker of your channel's videos from the composer, with thumbnails and titles.
• Search your videos to find the right one.
• Click a video to insert its youtube.com link into your reply.

#Before you begin

• You need a YouTube channel with the videos you want to share. Resool lists the videos of the channel that belongs to the Google account you sign in with.
• In Resool, only workspace Owners and Admins can connect apps.
• Customers open the video on YouTube, so private videos won't play for them. Use public or unlisted videos.

#How to connect YouTube to Resool

1. Go to Settings › Apps.
2. Open the Communication tab and click Connect on the YouTube card.

1. The Connect YouTube dialog explains that this is separate from your Google connection and lists one permission: see your YouTube channel and its videos (read-only). Click Continue.

1. In the Google window, choose the account that owns your YouTube channel and allow access.
2. You're returned to Resool and see YouTube connected. The card shows the connected channel and a Disconnect button. There are no settings to configure.

#How to send a YouTube video in a reply

1. Open a conversation in the Inbox.
2. In the composer, click the Send a YouTube video icon (the YouTube logo).
3. Type in Search your videos, or scroll the list. Click Load more to see more videos.
4. Click a video. Its link is inserted into your reply.
5. Add a short message and send it.

#How to disconnect YouTube

1. Go to Settings › Apps and click Disconnect on the YouTube card.
2. Confirm in the Disconnect YouTube? dialog.

The YouTube button disappears from the composer. Your Google connection for Gmail, Sheets and Calendar isn't affected. You can connect again at any time.

#FAQ and troubleshooting

#Can Resool upload, edit or delete my YouTube videos?

No. Access is read-only: Resool can only list your channel's videos so you can send their links.

#The picker says "Couldn't load your videos". What do I do?

What you can do:

• Wait a moment and try again.
• If it keeps failing, disconnect YouTube in Settings › Apps and connect it again with the Google account that owns the channel.

#Why don't I see videos from another channel?

The picker shows the channel of the connected Google account only. To share another channel's video, paste its link into the reply.

#Does the video play inside the chat?

Resool sends the YouTube link. Whether the customer sees a preview depends on their messaging app.
