Companies
Companies let you organise contacts by the business they work for, which is useful for B2B sales, agencies and any team that deals with several people at the same client. In Resool each company has its own record with details, custom company fields, lifecycle stage and tags, and you link people to it with their role. The company page then shows everyone who works there, their conversations, projects, notes and shared files in one place.
Before you begin
- Companies are included in the Growth and Scale plans. See Plans and billing.
- You need See clients to view companies and Create and edit clients to add or change them. With the default roles, Owners, Admins and Managers can manage companies; Agents and Viewers can view them.
How to see your companies
- Go to Contacts.
- In the side panel, switch from People to Companies.
The table lists your companies with columns such as Company, People, Industry, Website, Email, Phone, Active / total projects, Account manager, Country, Lifecycle, Tags and Date Added. Use Search companies or the filter icon (Filter Companies) to narrow the list, and save filters as company segments.

How to link people to a company
From the company page
- Open the company.
- In the People card, click Add person.
- Optionally enter their Role (for example "Marketing manager"), then search for the contact and select them.
From the contact's page
- Open the contact.
- Under Companies in Details, click Add company and pick a company (or New company… to create one).
- Enter the person's Role and save the page.
A person can belong to several companies. One of them is marked Primary.
The company page
Click a company to open its page:
- Header: name, industry, country, website, email and phone.
- Details: the company's information and Company fields. Edit them directly on the page.
- Projects: the company's projects with their status and progress. Create one with New project. See Spaces overview.
- Conversations: conversations with the company's people.
- Lifecycle and Tags: the company's own stage and tags.
- People: everyone linked to the company, with their role and Primary badge.
- Notes: internal notes for your team. Notes can be pinned and can include files.
- Client portal: when your plan includes it, invite people from the company to a private portal where they follow progress, comment and approve work.
- Files: files shared with or about the company.
- History: every change to the company record.

How to set up company fields, stages and tags
Companies have their own settings, separate from people:
- Company fields:
Settings › Contact fields, Companies tab. See Contact fields. - Company lifecycle stages:
Settings › Lifecycle, Companies tab. See Lifecycle stages. - Company tags:
Settings › Tags, Companies tab. See Tags.
How companies appear in the Inbox
When you talk to someone who belongs to a company, the contact panel has a Company tab with the company's details and fields, so agents can see and edit them without leaving the conversation. See Contact details panel.
How to delete a company
Open the company, click the ⋯ menu and choose Delete. The company is removed from lists. Its projects stay but are no longer linked to it.
FAQ and troubleshooting
Why don't I see the Companies switch?
Your role doesn't include See clients, or your plan doesn't include companies.
Can a contact work at more than one company?
Yes. Add as many companies as you need on the contact's page and mark the main one as Primary.
Are company tags and stages the same as the ones for people?
No. Companies have separate tags, lifecycle stages and fields, managed on the Companies tab of each settings page.
Does importing contacts create companies?
Yes. If you map a column to Company (linked by name), missing companies are created (when you're allowed to add companies) and people are linked to them.
