Foodics

Foodics is a restaurant management and point-of-sale (POS) platform used across Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and Egypt. Connecting Foodics to Resool shows each guest's Foodics customer details and orders with their status and items next to the conversation, lets workflows start when an order is placed, updated, cancelled or returned, and lets workflows create or update customers in Foodics.

What you can do with Foodics

In the Inbox and on the contact page

  • Customer details: the guest's Foodics customer profile, such as total spent and number of orders.
  • Orders: the guest's recent orders with number, date, items, total and status. Hover an order to see its items.
  • Open in Foodics to jump to your Foodics Console orders.

In Workflows

  • Start a workflow on these Foodics events: Order Created, Order Updated, Order Status Changed, Order Cancelled, Order Refunded, Customer Created and Customer Updated.
  • Keep customers in sync with the Create or update customer step.

Before you begin

  • You need a Foodics business account with access to the Foodics Console.
  • In Resool, only workspace Owners and Admins can connect apps.
  • Orders are matched to a contact by phone number or email address, so the guest must be saved as a customer on the order in Foodics.

How to connect Foodics to Resool

  1. Go to Settings › Apps.
  2. Find Foodics under Available now (or open the E-commerce tab) and click Connect.
  3. The Connect Foodics dialog lists what Resool will be able to do: see and update your business's customers, see orders and their items, and get instant updates when orders change. Click Continue.

How to use Foodics in Workflows

Start a workflow on a Foodics event

  1. In Workflows, click the trigger, choose the E-commerce group and pick the Event.
  2. Set Store to Foodics (or Any connected store).
  3. For Order Status Changed, optionally pick Statuses.

Foodics order statuses map to Resool like this:

Foodics statusResool status
PendingPending
ActiveConfirmed
ClosedCompleted
Declined, VoidCancelled
ReturnedRefunded

A change to Declined or Void also starts Order Cancelled, and a return also starts Order Refunded. The workflow runs for the contact with the guest's phone or email, and creates a contact when there is none.

Use it, for example, to send a thank-you message with a feedback link when an order is Completed.

Update Foodics from a workflow

Add the Create or update customer step from the Stores group and set Store to Foodics. It uses the contact's name, phone and email: the matching Foodics customer (same phone or email) is updated; otherwise a new one is created.

Foodics doesn't let other apps change an order's status or add tags or notes, so Update order status and Add order tag or note aren't available for Foodics.

How to disconnect Foodics

  1. Go to Settings › Apps and click Disconnect on the Foodics card.
  2. Confirm in the Disconnect Foodics? dialog.

Resool stops accessing your Foodics business. Contacts already in Resool stay.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Why don't I see a guest's orders?

Orders are matched by the customer saved on the order in Foodics.

What you can do:

  • Make sure the cashier adds the guest as a customer (with phone number) on the order.
  • Check that the contact's phone number in Resool includes the country code.

Does Resool show abandoned carts for Foodics?

No. Foodics orders are placed at the restaurant or through ordering channels, and Foodics doesn't share abandoned carts. The Abandoned Checkout trigger doesn't start for Foodics.

Is there an Order Paid or Order Fulfilled trigger for Foodics?

No. Foodics reports order statuses such as Active, Closed and Returned. Use Order Status Changed with the Completed status to act when an order is closed.

Why did Order Status Changed not run when an order was edited?

Foodics sends an update every time an order is saved. Resool starts Order Status Changed only when the status actually changes; Order Updated runs on every save.
