Typeform
Typeform is a tool for building conversational forms, quizzes and surveys. Connecting Typeform to Resool lets a form submission start a workflow: Resool finds the contact by the email or phone number they entered (or creates them), and every answer becomes a variable you can use in the workflow. For example, you can send a WhatsApp welcome message seconds after someone fills in your lead form, assign them to the right team, or tag them by the answers they gave.
What you can do with Typeform
In Workflows
- Typeform Response Submitted trigger: starts a workflow when someone submits the form you pick.
- Find or create the contact: the contact is matched by the email or phone answered in the form, or created if there's no match.
- Use the answers: each question becomes a
{{typeform.…}}variable for messages, contact fields, branches and app steps.
Before you begin
- You need a Typeform account with at least one form that asks for an email or a phone number. Resool uses that answer to find or create the contact.
- In Resool, only workspace Owners and Admins can connect apps.
How to connect Typeform to Resool
- Go to
Settings › Appsand open the Marketing tab. - Click Connect on the Typeform card.
- The Connect Typeform dialog lists what Resool will be able to do after you approve: see your forms and their questions, receive the responses to the forms you pick, and add and remove Resool's webhook on those forms. Click Continue.
Settings › Apps › Typeform › Connect
The "Connect Typeform" dialog with the description, the "After you approve on Typeform, Resool will be able to:" list and the Cancel and Continue buttons.

- Sign in to Typeform in the window that opens and allow access.
- You're returned to Resool and see Typeform connected.
How to start a workflow from a Typeform response
- Go to Workflows and create a workflow, or open one.
- Choose the Typeform Response Submitted trigger.
- In Form, pick the form. Resool adds a webhook to this form so its responses reach the workflow. When it's ready you see Listening for responses to this form.
Workflows › open a workflow › Trigger › Typeform Response Submitted
The trigger panel with a form selected, the green "Listening for responses to this form" line, the note about finding the contact, and the list of variables including typeform.email and a few question variables.

- Add the steps you want. For example, Send a message with "Hi {{typeform.first_name}}, thanks for your request!", then assign the conversation or add a tag.
- Publish the workflow. Only published workflows start from responses.
Variables you can use
Below the form picker, Resool lists every variable the form provides. Click one to copy it.
| Variable | What it holds |
|---|---|
{{typeform.<question>}} | The answer to a question. The name is the question title in snake case, e.g. "What's your budget?" becomes {{typeform.whats_your_budget}}. |
{{typeform.hidden_<name>}} | The value of a hidden field, e.g. {{typeform.hidden_utm_source}}. |
{{typeform.form_title}} | The form's title. |
{{typeform.response_id}} | Typeform's ID for the response. |
{{typeform.submitted_at}} | When the response was submitted. |
{{typeform.email}} / {{typeform.phone}} | The email and phone used to find the contact. |
How the contact is found
- Resool takes the first email and phone number answers in the response. If the form has none, it looks at hidden fields named
email,phoneorphone_number. - If a contact with that email or phone exists, the workflow runs for them. If not, a new contact is created. A text question whose title contains "name" (or a hidden field called
name) fills in the new contact's name. - If the response has neither a valid email nor a phone number, no contact is created and the workflow doesn't start.
How to disconnect Typeform
- Go to
Settings › Appsand click Disconnect on the Typeform card. - Confirm in the Disconnect Typeform? dialog.
Resool removes its webhooks from your forms and workflows with the Typeform trigger stop starting.
FAQ and troubleshooting
A form was submitted but the workflow didn't start
What you can do:
- Make sure the workflow is published and its trigger still shows Listening for responses to this form.
- Check that the form asks for an email or phone number, and that the respondent filled it in.
- If you reconnected Typeform, open the workflow's trigger once: Resool registers the webhook again for the saved form.
Can two workflows use the same form?
Each response starts one workflow. Use one published workflow per form and put all the steps for that form in it, using branches if you need different paths.
My questions are in Arabic. What are the variables called?
Variable names use Latin letters only. When a question title has none, Resool uses the question's reference from Typeform instead (or answer). The variable list under the trigger always shows the exact names.
Does Resool import past responses?
No. Only responses submitted after the trigger starts listening reach Resool.
Can I send the contact a WhatsApp message after they submit?
Yes. Add a Send a message or Send a WhatsApp template step. If the contact hasn't messaged you in the last 24 hours, WhatsApp requires an approved template.
