Smartsheet
Smartsheet is a spreadsheet-style platform for tracking work, leads and requests. Connecting Smartsheet to Resool lets agents add the contact they're talking to as a new row in a sheet with one click, and lets workflows add rows with any columns you map, for example every new lead from a website chat. Resool only adds rows; it never deletes or changes existing ones.
What you can do with Smartsheet
In the Inbox
- Add to Smartsheet: add the contact's name, email and phone as a new row in the sheet you chose.
- See the rows added for the contact and open them with View in Smartsheet.
On the contact page
- The Connected apps list shows how many rows were added for the contact.
In Workflows
- The Add Smartsheet row step adds a row at the bottom of a sheet with the columns you map. Values can include variables such as
{{contact.email}}.
Before you begin
- You need a Smartsheet account with edit access to the sheet you want to use.
- The sheet should have columns for the contact's name, email and/or phone.
- In Resool, only workspace Owners and Admins can connect apps and change their settings.
- Adding rows from the inbox needs a role that can manage contacts (Owner, Admin, Manager and Agent can by default).

FAQ and troubleshooting
Why don't I see the Add to Smartsheet button?
The button appears only after a sheet and at least one of the name, email or phone columns are set in Smartsheet settings. Agents also need a role that can manage contacts.
Does Resool update a row if the contact is already in the sheet?
No. Smartsheet rows are only added, never updated or deleted. If you need to update existing records, consider Airtable or Google Sheets, which can update matching rows.
Can a workflow write to a different sheet than the inbox?
Yes. Each Add Smartsheet row step can pick its own sheet.
Which plans include Smartsheet?
Apps are included on every plan. See Plans and billing.
