Asana
Asana is a work-management app for planning and tracking tasks and projects. Connecting Asana to Resool lets agents turn a customer request into an Asana task straight from the conversation, choose the project, assignee and due date, and then see whether the task is still open or completed right next to the chat. Workflows can create Asana tasks automatically, for example when a conversation is tagged or a form is answered.
What you can do with Asana
In the Inbox
- Create task in an Asana workspace and project, with an assignee, a due date and a description.
- See the Asana tasks created for the contact with their status, and open them with View in Asana.
On the contact page
- The Connected apps list shows how many Asana tasks the contact has and how many are still open.
In Workflows
- The Create Asana task step creates a task with a name, notes, assignee and a due date relative to when the step runs.
Every task Resool creates includes the contact's name, email and phone and a link to the conversation.
Before you begin
- You need an Asana account that can create tasks in the workspace and projects you want to use.
- In Resool, only workspace Owners and Admins can connect apps and change their settings.
- Creating tasks from the inbox needs a role that can manage contacts (Owner, Admin, Manager and Agent can by default).

Settings › Apps. - Open the Productivity tab and click Connect on the Asana card.

- You're returned to Resool and see Asana connected. The card shows the connected account with Manage and Disconnect.
How to configure Asana
Click Manage on the Asana card to open Asana settings. Under Defaults:
- Workspace: the Asana workspace new tasks go to.
- Project: the project inside that workspace. Changing the workspace clears the project.
These defaults are used by Create task in the inbox and by workflow steps that pick nothing. Click Save changes in the save bar to store them, or Discard to undo.

FAQ and troubleshooting
Why can't I pick an assignee?
The assignee list comes from the workspace. Pick a Workspace first.
Does Resool update the task when the conversation changes?
No. Resool creates the task and then reads its status. Edit the task in Asana.
Can I create a task without a project?
Yes. Only the workspace is required. A task without a project is created in the workspace.
The panel says the Asana connection expired. What do I do?
What you can do:
- Ask an Owner or Admin to go to
Settings › Apps, click Disconnect on the Asana card and connect again. - Make sure the Asana user who connected still has access to the workspace.
Which plans include Asana?
Apps are included on every plan. See Plans and billing.
