Close

Close is a sales CRM for inside sales teams, organized around leads (companies) and their contacts. Connecting Close to Resool shows each contact's Close lead, lead status and opportunities next to the conversation, so agents know where a deal stands, create or update the contact in Close and add notes without leaving the inbox. You can also sync Close contacts and their leads into Resool, and changes in Close show up in Resool right away.

What you can do with Close

In the Inbox

  • See the Close contact you're talking to: name, email, phone, owner and the lead's Lead status, plus any other fields you choose to show.
  • See the contact's lead (Close's company) with the lead fields you choose.
  • See the lead's opportunities under Deals, with value and status (Open, Won or Lost).
  • Create in Close a contact that doesn't exist there yet (Close creates a lead named after the contact), or Update in Close one that does.
  • Add note: the note is added to the lead's activity, linked to the contact.
  • Edit Close fields from Resool, if an admin allows it.
  • View in Close to open the lead in a new tab.

In the background

  • Contact sync: Close contacts that are created or updated are created or updated in Resool, using the field mapping you set. Resool adds a webhook in Close, so contact, lead and opportunity changes arrive as they happen.
  • Company sync: the lead each synced contact belongs to becomes a Resool company, with its own field mapping.

Before you begin

  • You need a Close user who can authorize apps for your Close organization.
  • In Resool, only workspace Owners and Admins can connect apps.
  • A contact needs an email address or phone number in Resool to be matched to a Close contact.

How to connect Close to Resool

Click Continue.

Choose which fields agents see

Under View Close properties on Resool, next to Customize visible properties, click Customize view. Tick fields on the Contact properties and Company properties (lead) tabs, such as title, website or your custom fields, drag them into order and click Save changes. Fields marked Read-only, like Lead status, can be shown but not edited.

Let agents edit Close fields

Turn on Allow users to edit Close properties to let teammates change field values from the Close panel with Edit. Changes go to Close straight away. Email and phone number can't be edited from Resool.

Turn on Contact sync

  1. Turn on Turn on Contact sync.
  2. Under How Contacts are synced, choose Create and update contacts, Create contacts only or Update contacts only.
  3. Open Advanced settings (shown for the two "create" modes):
    • Add the "Auto-Create: Close" tag: tags contacts created by the sync. Adding this tag doesn't start workflows.
    • Include contacts imported in bulk: also creates contacts that arrive through a Close import.
    • Only contacts created in Close from now on (with Create contacts only): skips contacts that were already in Close.
  4. Next to Configure field mapping, click Configure. Pair each Close property with a Resool field, up to 100 mappings. By default, email, phone, first name and last name are mapped.
  5. Optionally turn on Assign to the Close owner: the contact's open conversations go to the teammate whose email matches the Close owner's, even when an AI agent is assigned.
  6. Click Save changes.

How to use Close in the Inbox

  1. Open a conversation in the Inbox.
  2. Click the Close icon in the contact details rail. Resool looks up the Close contact by exact email, then phone number.
  3. If a contact is found, you see its fields, lead and Deals. If not, click Create in Close.
  4. Use Add note to log the conversation on the lead, or Update to send the contact's current name, email and phone (and, with Company sync on, the company) to Close.

How to disconnect Close

  1. Go to Settings › Apps and click Disconnect on the Close card.
  2. Confirm in the Disconnect Close? dialog.

Resool removes its webhook from Close, revokes its access and stops syncing. Contacts already in Resool stay.

FAQ and troubleshooting

What does "Create in Close" create?

A Close contact with the Resool contact's name, email and phone. Because every Close contact belongs to a lead, Close also creates a lead named after the contact.

Where do notes added from Resool appear?

In the lead's activity in Close, linked to the contact.

Why doesn't the panel find a contact that exists in Close?

Matching needs exactly the same email or phone number in both places; even a space or a dash makes a difference. If several Close contacts match, the oldest one is used.

Can I connect more than one Close organization?

No. Each workspace connects one Close organization at a time.
