Creating and Switching Workspaces

Resool Team · · 3 min read

A workspace is where your team, channels, contacts and conversations live in Resool. Each workspace has its own members, connected channels, settings and plan, so you can run one business, or keep separate brands, branches or client accounts apart, from the same Resool account. You create your first workspace right after you sign up, and you can create more and switch between them at any time.

Before you begin

How to create your first workspace

After you confirm your email, Resool opens Create your workspace.

  1. Enter a Workspace name, for example your company or brand name. It needs at least 2 characters.
  2. Click Create workspace.

Name your workspace and click Create workspace.

Resool creates the workspace, starts a free trial of the Growth plan and opens the Dashboard. A short product tour points out the main areas, and the Finish setting up checklist shows what to do next. See Getting started with Resool.

The workspace's default language is the language you're using Resool in when you create it. You can change the name, logo, language, time zone and other details later in Settings › Workspace. See Workspace settings.

How to create another workspace

  1. Click the workspace logo at the top of the left navigation.
  2. Click Create workspace.
  3. Enter the Workspace name and click Create workspace.

Switch between workspaces or create a new one from the workspace menu.

The new workspace starts empty, with its own trial. Channels, contacts, members and settings are not copied from your other workspaces.

How to switch between workspaces

  1. Click the workspace logo at the top of the left navigation.
  2. Under Workspaces, click the workspace you want to open. The current one has a check mark.

You can also press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows), type the workspace name and choose it under Switch workspace. This group appears when you belong to more than one workspace. See Search and availability.

Notes and limitations

  • Each workspace has its own plan and billing. Seats are counted per workspace, based on its active members.
  • Members, channels, contacts, conversations, apps and settings belong to one workspace and are not shared between workspaces.
  • Your profile (name, photo, phone, language and password) is shared across all your workspaces.
  • In the mobile app you can switch between workspaces, but creating a workspace is done on the web.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Should I create one workspace or several?

Use one workspace when the same team serves the same customers, even across many channels and teams. Create separate workspaces when you need fully separate contacts, channels, members and billing, for example for separate brands or for clients you manage.

How long is the free trial?

New workspaces start on a free trial of the Growth plan. The trial end date is shown in Settings › Plan & billing. See Plans and billing.

Can I rename a workspace?

Yes. Owners and Admins can change the name in Settings › Workspace.

How do I leave or delete a workspace?

An Owner can delete a workspace from Settings › Workspace. To leave a workspace you were invited to, ask an Owner or Admin to remove you. See Exporting and deleting data.

I can't see the workspace I was invited to

Make sure you accepted the invitation with the same email address it was sent to. See Joining a workspace from an invitation.
