Workspace Settings

Workspace settings hold the basic details of your Resool workspace: its name and logo, your company's industry and contact details, the main currency, the notification sound and the time zone. Every workspace stands on its own, with its own members, channels, plan and settings, so these details apply only to the workspace you're in. Owners and Admins keep them up to date; everyone else can view them.

#Before you begin

• Only Owners and Admins (any role with the Edit workspace settings permission) can change workspace settings. Other members see the page read-only, with the note "Only owners and admins can change these settings."
• If you belong to more than one workspace, switch to the right one first from the workspace switcher at the top of the left rail. See Creating and Switching Workspaces.

#How to open workspace settings

1. Click the Settings icon in the left rail.
2. Choose Workspace settings. The Workspace page opens, and the settings menu on the left lists the other workspace pages.

The page has a logo card at the top and the workspace details below it.

#How to add or change the workspace logo

The logo is shown in the sidebar instead of the first letter of the workspace name.

1. In the Workspace logo card, click Upload logo.
2. Choose a PNG, JPG or WebP image. Use a square image up to 2 MB.

The logo is saved straight away. To go back to the letter, click Remove logo and confirm in the Remove the workspace logo? dialog.

#How to edit the workspace details

1. Change any of the fields below.
2. When you change something, a bar appears at the bottom of the page with Unsaved changes. Click Save to keep your changes, or Discard to undo them.

#Notification sound options

Choose from Live chat (default), Chime, Soft bell, Message, Modern, System and several numbered notification tones. The workspace sound is what plays when a notification arrives; each person can still turn sound off for themselves in Notification Settings.

#Notes and limitations

• Changes to workspace settings are recorded in the Audit log, and a change to the workspace name, time zone or currency can be restored from there.
• The Delete workspace card at the bottom of this page is visible only to Owners. See Exporting and Deleting Data before you use it.
• Your own name, photo, language and dark mode are personal settings, not workspace settings. See Profile Settings.

#FAQ and troubleshooting

#Why can't I edit the fields on the Workspace page?

Your role doesn't include Edit workspace settings. Ask a workspace Owner or Admin to make the change, or to give you a role that includes it. See Roles and Permissions.

#My logo upload failed. What can I do?

• Use a PNG, JPG or WebP file.
• Keep the file under 2 MB.
• Use a square image; other shapes are cropped to a square.

#Where is the time zone used?

Resool uses the workspace time zone for dates across the workspace, such as the dashboard and the date filters in the audit log. Set it to where most of your team works.

#Do these settings apply to all my workspaces?

No. Each workspace has its own name, logo, details and time zone. Switch workspace to change another one.
