Getting Started with Resool

Resool Team · · 4 min read

This guide walks you through your first hour in Resool: the short product tour, the Finish setting up checklist on the Dashboard, and the steps that get your team replying to customers from one shared inbox. By the end you'll have a channel connected, your teammates invited and your first conversation answered.

Before you begin

Take the product tour

The first time you open a workspace on a computer or tablet, Resool shows a four-step tour:

  1. Welcome to your workspace: a quick look around.
  2. Your modules: the left navigation with the Inbox, Contacts, Broadcasts, Spaces, Content and Reports. Hover an icon to see its name.
  3. Settings: where you connect channels, invite your team, manage your plan and connect your apps.
  4. Finish setup: the checklist on the Dashboard.

Click Next to move on, Back to go back and Get started on the last step. Click Skip tour to close it at any time. The tour shows once per person in each workspace.

Follow the Finish setting up checklist

At the top of the Dashboard, the Finish setting up card lists the first steps and shows your progress, for example "2 of 5 done". Click a step to go straight to the right page. Finished steps are ticked and crossed out, and the card disappears when every step is done. Click the × to hide it yourself.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Can I see the product tour again?

The tour shows once per person in each workspace. To learn about an area later, use this Help Center or open the Assistant at the bottom of the left navigation and ask a question.

The Finish setting up card is gone. How do I bring it back?

The card disappears when every step is done or when you close it with the ×. Every step can still be done from Settings: channels in Settings › Channels and invitations in Settings › Members.

Why is "Add the chat widget to your website" still open after I installed the code?

The step is ticked after the first visitor sends a message through your Website Chat. Open your website, send a test message from the chat widget, then refresh the Dashboard.

I don't see Settings › Channels or Settings › Members

These pages need the right permissions. Ask a workspace Owner or Admin to do these steps or to change your role.
