Who we are
Resool (resool.io) is a shared inbox and customer-communication platform. Businesses ("customers") connect channels such as WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, email and website chat, and talk to their own contacts from one place. For the messages and contact details a business handles in Resool, the business is the data controller and Resool acts as its processor. For account and billing data of the people who sign up, Resool is the controller.
What we collect
Account data: name, work email, phone number, password (stored only as a salted hash) and workspace settings.
Channel data a business chooses to connect: messages, attachments, delivery and read receipts, comments on connected Facebook or Instagram posts, call events, and the profile details Meta provides for the sender (such as name, username and profile picture). We receive them only through the channels the business connected.
Contact data a business adds or imports: names, phone numbers, emails, tags, notes and custom fields.
Technical data: IP address, browser, and security logs, used to keep the service safe.
How we use it
To provide the service: receive, store, show and send messages, run automations and reports, and keep accounts secure.
To send service emails (verification, invitations, notifications). We do not sell personal data and do not use messages for advertising.
If a business turns on AI features, the text of the relevant conversation and knowledge base is sent to the AI provider the business selected (for example Anthropic) only to produce replies, summaries or translations.
Meta platform data
Data received from WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram is used only to deliver the messaging features the business asked for. We do not transfer it to data brokers or use it to build profiles for advertising, and we follow the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
Mobile app
The Resool app for Android and iOS is for team members of a business that uses Resool. It uses the same account and shows the same data as the web app.
Camera, microphone, photos and files are used only when you choose to take a photo or video, record a voice note or make a call, or attach a file to a message. They are sent to the conversation you picked and nothing is read in the background.
Push notifications: if you allow them, we store a push token for your device (and its name, like "Pixel 8") so we can alert you about new messages, assignments and mentions. Notifications are delivered through Expo, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service. Signing out or turning push off in Settings removes the token.
The app does not collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Sharing and hosting
We share data only with service providers needed to run the product (cloud hosting, email delivery, the AI provider a business enables, and Meta for the channels it connects), under confidentiality and security obligations, or when the law requires it.
Retention and security
Data is kept while the workspace is active. A business can delete contacts, conversations or its whole workspace; deleted workspace data is removed from our systems within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep. Credentials and channel tokens are encrypted at rest, and traffic is encrypted in transit.
Your rights and deletion
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data. If a business messaged you through Resool, contact that business first; you can also write to us at support@resool.io. See /data-deletion for how to request deletion and what happens next.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change. Questions: support@resool.io.
